About The Big Event

The Big Event at VCU is a one-day, student-run service project where Rams come together to say “Thank You” to the residents of Richmond. VCU Student Government Association is excited to provide leadership and vision for a new tradition that shows our appreciation to the surrounding community, completing service projects such as yard work, window washing and painting for residents of the community. We share in the mission of similar programs throughout the nation - "One Big Help, One Big Day."

Thank you for your interest in participating in Virginia Commonwealth University's annual service program, The Big Event,  scheduled to take place on Saturday April 18th, 2020.

In response to COVID-19, the University has been taking steps to reduce risk by following the guidelines set by senior VCU academic leadership and experts within VCU Health, and the VCU Division of Student Affairs has suspended in-person meetings or events until further notice.  Following these guidelines, The Big Event 2020 is canceled.
